Last Friday was Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year. While I didn't do any real life shopping, I was able to empty my virtual pockets in Second Life. The 50L Fridays group was having a massive 40-something participating stores Black Friday sale. Needlessly to say, I doubt I even visited half of them. But I made it to some of my favorites and some new favorites even.
I visited the Kowloon Sim recently and I decided to take some pictures there to showcase some of the items I bought during 50L Fridays. The Kowloon Sim is based on the real life Kowloon Walled City of Hong Kong. It is an amazing spot for pictures, shopping and exploring. Apparently there's a park somewhere but I didn't get around to finding it. Here are some pictures I took...

I love glasses. Don't you? For some of us, they're a necessity but they can also be a cool fashion statement. I'm a real life four eyes and I like to collect fun glasses to wear in my Second Life. If only I had the money to own these many glasses in real life! Unfortunately my insurance only gives me money for glasses every 18 months (lol). Anyways, I bring you my little pixelated glasses collection. Enjoy!
Cute and nerdy, these come in three flavours. All for 1 Linden!
Unfortunately the price is estimated. They don't seem to be available anymore and I got them awhile ago.
Fun star-shaped glasses in an assortment of colors, a freebie at Gnubie.
These have been in my inventory for awhile, a free grab from my earlier days. If you or someone you know made these, please let me know.

So I've decided to do a little extra with the pictures other than just post the ones right off of Second Life with the white background. This is just a straight "picture and what's in it" post. None of that long explanations of what I did. But let me tell you, it's been forever since I've done anything like this (Photoshop and have fun with it) and it felt GOOD. I feel a little rejuvenated and everything! Well, onto the good stuff shall we?

There are a million blogs about Second Life out there. This one is #1,000,001.
My name is Juniper Ellisson. I started playing Second Life in March of 2009. It was part curiosity, part joke. A friend mentioned some of the more… *ahem* interesting parts of the game and my boredom could not resist it. Turns out, its actually quite an enjoyable game. A great way to meet people and live outside of our worlds.
I am making this blog to chronicle my experiences in Second Life, however mundane and silly there are. I enjoy doing a lot of things in SL: exploring the showcase for interesting places to visit and explore, shopping, scavenger hunting & “thrift” shopping. I hope this blog serves as inspiration, amusement and a little resourceful for other Second Lifers out there
A little bit about my “First Life”: I’m 23 and I live in Columbus, Ohio. I’m originally from Carolina, Puerto Rico and I moved to Columbus in 2006 to go to Ohio State University. I’m currently not in school and simply trying to re-prioritize my life and figure out what I want. When I was in school however I was an Art major. I enjoy anything and everything to do with art: visual, digital, musical, performance… you name it! For right now I work a crappy job that gets the bills paid and I live and share my experiences in life with my wonderful boyfriend, my cat Luna and our dog Niko.
Anyways with this, I leave you for now and little introductory pic I took today. Toodles everyone! Let the adventure begin!

Locus Sonus (audio in art) is a laboratory that will play streaming sounds experiences into SL on the Island Cultures Digitales.
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cultures%20Digitales/90/193/28/
